Rik Mayall RIP

I’m again saddened to hear of the unexpected demise of one of my childhood heroes (teenage years – see previous post). The one and only Rik Mayall. Much has been said in the outpouring of tributes about his roles in the young ones, black adder, bottom & the new statesman. But, I remember him most fondly, for his comedy  character – brummie investigative journalist Kevin Turvey. I think Kevin was given his first TV airing in a sketch show called ‘Up the Eighties’ or something similar.

Pure comic genius, fond memories indeed – Thank you so much Rik…
